The Star Wars Battlefront 2 release date has been set but is different for everyone, depending on how you plan to buy and play the game.
For everyone who doesn’t pre order the game, Star Wars Battlefront 2 arrives on November 17.
However, if you have an EA Access subscription, you can start playing some of it right now.
It should be noted that only a maximum of ten hours of the game can be played now, with some content limitations in place.
Single-player can only be enjoyed to a certain point, however, the title’s multiplayer modes are fully available.
Save progress carries over to the full game if you decide to buy, and you’ll get a 10% discount automatically with your membership.
Unfortunately, EA Access is only available on Xbox One and PC, so this option isn’t currently available to those on PS4.
There have been reports that EA Access could be releasing on PS4 in the near future, although nothing has been confirmed between the major players.
For those who have purchased Star Wars Battlefront 2 deluxe edition across any platform, will be able to play on November 14, a full three days before the full launch.
EA recently confirmed more on how they will be handling the game’s free DLC updates.
Battlefront 2 will feature Seasons, the first being called Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which kicks off on December 5.
Players will have to choose between the First Order and The Resistance, and will unlock special challenges tailored to those factions.
PLANS FROM EA:
Things kick into high gear on December 13: Your favorite stormtrooper-turned-hero Finn joins the fight for the Resistance and Captain Phasma steps on to the Battlefront for the First Order. They can be purchased with in-game Credits that week. Whichever faction is victorious in completing the most challenges that week will net a reward as well: a special Crate of high-power upgrades for Finn or Captain Phasma.
New locations and vehicles will also arrive: On December 13, the cinematic content from Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues with a new planetary map: Crait. The Starfighter Assault map of D’qar will join as well, plus a new hero ship – Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing is also upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Iden Versio returns: In Star Wars Battlefront II Resurrection, you’ll join Commander Iden Versio during the days of the First Order’s rise to power. This all new chapter of Star Wars Battlefront II’s single-player story mode will be available December 13.
Your choice of faction will continue to matter: Throughout December, you’ll see your chosen faction’s progress reflected in-game, as you fight alongside allies from around the world to swing the tide of battle.
As mentioned above, Battlefront 2’s Season 1 will run through December 29 and will include both daily and weekly challenges.
