Samsung Galaxy S8 is a phenomenal smartphone.
The flagship handset raked-up a slew of awards over the last 12 months, and we praised the Galaxy S8 as “the best smartphone money can buy”.
However, the Galaxy S8 has not been immune to problems.
According to a small – but growing – community on social news site Reddit, a number of Samsung Galaxy S8 handsets are randomly waking up throughout the day.
Users have purportedly noticed Galaxy S8 displays turning on without prompt.
The annoying quirk appears to happen after the handset has been put to sleep by either pressing the power button or letting the phone go to sleep on its own.
According to reports, the Galaxy S8 screen will then wake itself for around 10 seconds, then return to a sleep state.
This happens multiple times a day, users on the Reddit thread have reported.
Fortunately, the issue does not appear to be widespread.
Express.co.uk has contacted Samsung about these reports and will update the article accordingly when we hear back from the company.
The news comes as Samsung acknowledged that some Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 devices were having problem holding their charge.
Users had reported their smartphones were no longer charging, and could not be reviewed when they finally ran out of juice.
Samsung issued a statement to PCWelt.de about the problem.
“Samsung takes all reports of this kind, of course, seriously,” the company said.
“We have received only a very small number of customer inquiries that can be linked to charge management.
“Unfortunately, we can only comment on the matter further, if we have more detailed information about the affected devices.”
