The three women travelled from China to South Korea to have plastic surgery on their faces.
But their plan backfired when they were detained by immigration officers as they tried to return home.
The travellers’ faces had swollen up so much from their procedures that they were completely unrecognisable.
Officers could not confirm they were the same people in their passport pictures because the two looked nothing alike, according to AsiaWire.
An image of the three women sitting down at the airport with their passports in hands has gone viral since it was shared online.

The photo has been liked over 51,000 times and shared by thousands of people.
It’s unclear whether the women have been allowed to return home.
They had flown to South Korea during China’s Golden Week, a national holiday which encourages residents to go on vacation.
