I’m A Celebrity 2017: Ant and Dec ‘ramp up security’ in Australia amid ‘crazed fans fear’

The Daily Star has claimed the double-act has ramped up their security amid worries about “crazed fans”.

The newspaper states that Ant McPartlin, 41, was particularly keen to make the changes following his much-publicised stint in rehab.

“With extra help, it will give them both, particularly Ant, peace of mind to focus on what he is best at,” a source told the publication.

It is believed that the presenters normally have a protection team of two, but this week have been spotted with four security guards.

Ant was pictured on Sunday with partner Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall while on a shopping trip ahead of the start of the ITV series.

The trio were joined by a burly male as they left a grocery store with a number of bags in hand.

Keeping his mirrored sunglasses firmly on, Ant looked relaxed after teaming a white T-shirt with orange shorts.

Dec beamed at the camera after opting for a pink top and navy bottoms, while his spouse showed off her pins in denim hotpants.

It comes after stars have been snapped arriving in the country for the reality programme, including Rebekah Vardy, Amir Khan and comedian Shappi Khorsandi.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for the show asking for comment.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
