Fortnite Battle Royale COUNTDOWN – Release date, start time for new limited time mode

Fortnite Battle Royale players will soon be able to take part in the Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Epic Games revealed the big Fortnite Battle Royale update at the start of 2018 on New Year’s Day.

It introduced the new Silenced Pistol weapon to Fortnite Battle Royale servers on Tuesday.

And the weapon will play a major part in the new mode heading to Fortnite Battle Royale tomorrow (Friday January 5 2018).

The introduction of the new weapon was revealed on the Fortnite Twitter, which posted: “Introducing the new Silenced Pistol weapon, a perfect pair for the bush. 

“Your enemies won’t see or hear you approach.”

Epic Games went into more detail about Fortnite Battle Royale’s new weapon and mode in a blog post.

They said the silenced pistol weapon can be found as an Epic and Legendary rarity.

It can also be found in treasure chests, supply drops or as floor loot.

The official post also gave details about the Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode, which will run from January 5 to January 8.

Epic Games said in the new mode Fortnite Battle Royale players will only be able to pick up Suppressed SMGs and Suppressed Pistols.

Traps will also be disabled and the drop rate of the Bush cosmetic will be greatly increased.

In a welcome boost, Epic Games also said there will be no server downtime before the new mode goes live.

A start time for when the Sneaky Silencer Limited Time Mode goes live in Fortnite Battle Royale has not been revealed yet.

With past Fortnite events, the start time has been revealed on launch day on the official social channels.

And is expecting the same again, with fans given updates on Twitter for when the new mode will be going live.

The Fortnite Battle Royale mode is free to play, but to play the main game you’ll have to pay at the moment.

That will all change this year, as Fortnite will move out of early access and become completely free to play.

Epic Games have not yet revealed a date for when Fortnite will become completely free.

The Fortnite news comes as its big rival – PUBG – gave a major update to fans.

Right now PUBG is only available to play on Xbox One and PC, but that could all be about to change soon.

Chang Han Kim, the CEO of PUBG developer PUBG Corp, gave a boost to PS4 and Nintendo Switch fans hoping for a Battlegrounds release.

He said that he hopes PUBG will one day be available on “every platform”.

Kim said: “As it’s going to be an exclusive title on Xbox One for some time, we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now. 

“If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform.”
