A woman got a big surprise earlier this week when she got a plane all to herself.
The passenger, who identified herself as Beth, posted a photo of herself alone on a plane on Reddit.
In the selfie photo, she grins at the camera and shows off a number of empty seats visible behind her.
According to her story, she was due to fly on a passenger plane from Rochester, New York to Ronald Regan International Airport in Washington, D.C., eight hours earlier.
Her original flight was cancelled – and she was told she would be booked on to another after midnight.
However, when she arrived no one else was waiting for the new flight.
“I realised something was wrong when I was the only one in the waiting area 45 minutes before take off,” she explained to Reddit users.
“One of the airport agents came over while I was waiting and asked if that was the flight I was waiting for.”
While passengers had initially been rescheduled for the flight after midnight, an announcement was made shortly afterwards to say an earlier plane was available.
However, this was too late for Beth, who had left the airport by this point.
“I’d already left to go back to my parent’s house nearby to wait for the next few hours,” she explained.
“I was never contacted about the flight change.”
While Beth’s fellow Reddit users asked if she had asked for extra food and drinks during her 70 minute journey, Beth revealed she did not request so much as a snack.
“No, they offered that but I said no so they never pulled the cart out.”
An insider recently revealed the trick to never sitting near children on planes again.
Babies or young children can often disrupt your journey – but how do you think you avoid sitting next to them?
