After adding men to the mix in a dramatic live show, Celebrity Big Brother host Emma Willis, 41, dropped another bombshell.
“From now, only the women have the right to vote,” she told viewers, explaining the nominations twist.
“Are they going to pick off the men?” she pondered. “Are they going to turn on each other?
“Will the men settle for being powerless or will everything start to change?” she teased ominously.
With the original female housemates being the only ones with the right to nominate for the first eviction of the series, the men are sure to be frustrated at the divide in power in the house.
To ramp things up even further, the women will also delegate roles to the male newcomers, choosing who will perform the tasks of two butlers, two chefs, two house cleaners and two bathroom cleaners.
Malika Haqq, Maggie Oliver, Jess Impiazzi and Amanda Barrie have already won themselves immunity, but who will the women choose to nominate out of the remaining housemates?
Fans were delighted with the shake-up, flocking to Twitter to share the excitement.
“I think this is possibly the BEST Big Brother housemate mix and twist EVER. Loving it already. It can only kick off,” (sic) one exclaimed, while another said: “Only women to vote this week while the men get to clean up, great twist.”
“Absolutely love this twist,” a third commented. “Yes, it’s nothing huge but it’s just enough to crank up the ante.” (sic)
A fourth said: “I love the fact that the ‘only women can nominate’ twist feels very genuinely put together for a social experiment.”
The numbers in the house have now grown to 16, with eight men and eight women after football star John Barnes, comedian Daniel O’Reilly, A.K.A. Dapper Laughs. Love Island heartthrob Jonny Mitchell, The Apprentice star Andrew Brady, ex-Boyzone singer Shane Lynch, drag queen Shane Jenek, A.K.A Courtney Act, rapper Genuwine, and dancer Wayne Sleep entered the house.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
